KIM LONE AND THE SATIN BANDKim Lone is an Artist of sublime beauty and depth. Originally from Austria now living and working in London. Inspired and rooted in the traditions of Kurt Weil ,Brecht and Breil, yet counterpointed with a contemporary urban edge from performing on the infamous East London Burlesque scene, combine to give her music a unique mix of timelessness and social relevance. Her performances are spellbinding! fragile, intimate and also soaring emotional uplifting affairs. The passion and conviction of Piaf and Dietrich with the charisma, beauty and glamour of Monroe and Joesphine Baker! Songs of infinite sadness and loss, ambiguously celebrated in a diyonison and bohemian orgy of velvet ,champagne and tears. Folk-Opera! This is Epic Theatre. By highlighting the constructed nature of the theatrical event, Lone communicates that the audience's reality is, in fact a construction and, as such, is changeable.Currently working on her debut album with a formidable songwriting/production team including Jamie Morgan (Neneh Cherry),Youth (Verve,Dido) and TimBran (Julian Cope ,The Orb)on her side it cannot be long surely! before Lone emerges to take her rightful place in the cannon of great artistic icons of our time.Particularly so because she questiones and dissolves many of the accepted practices of what an Artist is at this time and has created a unique vision with her work and performance. Not only a singer songwriter also an actress, illustrator, active painter, producer, designer, writer and poet. Keep posted for gigs, blogs and inclusive free downloads soon. Special thanks to Ed Robinson and Denise Venice..
THE ELECTRIC FLOWERSThe electric flowers hail from the slate grey victorian skies of Watford. Formed on a passion of all things 80's Sam, Joe and Luke started creating songs and producing bedroom demos to escape the grim reality of the situations they were trapped in. Growing musically in a few years, the original lineup of Joe Lewis, Sam Lewis and Luke Begley has recently expanded to include Jamie Smith on Drums and Simon Vince on Bass. Currently having finished their latest e.p entitled "Leave a light on". The e.p is a perfect snapshot of where the band are currently at musically, We shall leave you to listen and let the music do the talking.
PHORIAWhen playing at Lewisham’s Dirty South, Phoria caught the attention of producer Dan Lucas. He felt the band’s material and performance was so strong that he offered his time for free so the band could record their debut E.P. 'Yourself Still' at Anchor Baby studios in the Kent countryside.
In August 2010, PHORIA released the anticipated E.P. 'Yourself Still' as a pay-what-you-want download available at:http://www.phoria.bandcamp.com/. They are working on securing a wider release of the material with a view to making a full-length record, and are also looking to tour more extensively.
'A Brighton band who mix Radiohead with Sigur Ros. Could be big...' Jeff Hemmings (Radio Reverb)
‘…One of the best bands I've ever heard: Phoria… really are something else… Imagine it sounding a bit like Elbow meets Coldplay meets Sunny Day Real Estate. It's dark, beautiful and very very awesome!’ - Dan Lucas (http://www.anchorbabyrecordings.blogspot.com/ )
'Beautiful melodic landscapes... enchanting' - Playgroup
'...their textured, almost glacial soundscapes are where Sigur Rós meets Radiohead.' - Latest 7
