THE ISLAND EXPERIMENTAL 5: look out for MR.WHITE

Sometime in deepest darkest February, the gang of artists known as THE ISLAND EXPERIMENT got together to make a video. This column is devoted to stills from the shoot.

The pictures for the MR WHITE shoot were taken by my good friend and partner in the creation of this column…ANDRIJA LEKIC.

There is really nothing I can say about Andrija which will impress you as much as the pictures he takes. He has succeeded in making your columnist look cooler than he could ever hope to be… and that’s a major feat.

About the shoot.

Early in the moooorning, the WADESKI, Mr. PATRICK ‘I’m quite cool’ LONG, Mr. BEN THOMAS BROWN, ‘Miss Sweetness ‘(aka KARIN FRANSSON) and my Good Self arrived at the set to get clothed and made up.

Ben TB liked his lippy and looked very good in the camera shots. Patrick was not too keen on the peaked cap assigned to him by the stylist of the shoot. We all had a good laugh at his expense…but come the shoot…no cap.

The Wadeski looked remarkably like himself. A little bit rough, a little bit rugged, very, very charming. And that was before he put on the white jacket!

Miss Sweetness stole the show without too much effort. She was the only female in the band line up…and you would think that one lady up against this particular gang of four males would make for bad odds. Not a problem for the Fransson. GO GIRL!

After the band sequences were shot, extras were summoned for the MR WHITE storyline. At this point, we in the gang must express our sincere gratitude to all the bold and beautiful people who turned up in the afternoon and helped us complete the shoot.

A select roll-call of the regular characters who appeared include JAY-GUN, HENRY ‘Blakey’ BLAKE, SANDY ‘Where’s My Entourage?’

LAMB, ‘Quintessentially’ KEN GIBSON, SHANTI C. and PETER ‘Old Boots and a Hat’ CONWAY. Even I-MAN turned up (at the usual time I-Man turns up); and there was an appearance from SIMEON, fresh from the Funky Farmhouse.

And I should say that after the shoot, the crew and Robin (our fearless and dynamic director) stayed behind to check out the latest installment of the best open-mike night in this city…that my friends is…THE ISLAND EXPERIMENT.

Again, a big thanks to everybody. And a huge whoop! for REBECCA, the lead actress who puts in a performance which I refuse to describe. It will spoil your enjoyment. Go see MR WHITE. Watch out for him.
