Temporary reprieve... but we still need to voice our objections!
Update at 17:51 7/12/12 : this is ongoing ... ! New D day for incinerator is 9th Jan (earliest) but Ealing's report deadline is 21stDec. That means we ALL have to OBJECT before 20thDec.
The controversial project for NW10 has just been put on hold by Ealing Council... it appears with a helping hand from High Speed 2 (Hs2).
The incinerator was to be discussed and voted for on December 19. Now and according to a Ealing council spokesperson the application ‘was on hold’ following official contact from Hs2.” The Kilburn Times reports that Hs2 told them that the site at the end of Channel Gate Road, was “an important part of their plans.”
This a small victory and residents can celebrate the temporary reprieve, but bear in mind: It's on “hold”... so it may well come back to the agenda as it most certainly will.
The best thing to do is to carry on voicing your opposition to this project. The extra time is a blessing: it will allow more residents to become aware of the implications of these plans and for the campaign to gather more support. We urge you to keep up the pressure by formally objecting on Ealing's planning page.
Contact your local MP, councillors and most importantly vote NO to the NW10 incinerator on the link below. Remember to support your objection with reasons as to why you are against it i.e. pollution / truck traffic / risk of explosion / non-compliancy with Boris' Municipal Waste Strategy which is committed to reducing air pollution:

AS HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROJECT AND NEEDS TO PERSONALLY HEAR OUR CONCERNS - AS WELL AS THE PETITION.
We MUST all still formally object via the planning page link below (and support your objection with reasons in the comment box) before 21st December: http://www.pam.ealing.gov.uk/portal/servlets/PlanningComments?REFNO=PP/2012/3267
Ealing Planning officerPeter Lee is still preparing his recommendation report regarding this incinerator application. His report will be finished on 21st December and must include all our formal objections.
We CANNOT rely on Hs2 to save us from the incinerator. The plot that Clean Power Properties Ltd want to build incinerator on sits OUTSIDE of the safeguarded area for Hs2.
The fight must go on!
