Wet weather failed to dampen spirits last Saturday at the first College Rd Festival.
Locals came out in force for an afternoon to socialise and relax. A segment of the road was closed to traffic to allow the mini fest to take place. Kids ran amock, the Island had live music for everyone to enjoy, DJ's did their deed further up the road and a makeshift photo studio was busy all afternoon. Overall a very good start for what we hope to be the first local street celebration of many to come. If anyone doubted the changing character of this diverse neighbourhood, their doubts were dispelled: even Scissor Hands mingled freely among the party goers.
